The thing that stands out to me the most, is Coastal Fitness and Correction’s ability to empathize with what goes on with a cancer patient and to build your motivation and give you hope that things will not only improve but be better than they were before.
I was diagnosed with high-risk prostate cancer in June of 2022. This led to me being concerned about, not only the psychological effect of being diagnosed with cancer after being such a healthy person, but also what toll it would take on my body between the radiation and the chemicals they give you, there is a myriad of side effects.
I feel really lucky to have found this place. It’s enhanced my life and I’m at a spot now where I feel like I can move forward with confidence and feel good about myself.
Custom programming has enhanced my life in just about every way. It’s not only the physical aspect, but it’s also the psychological impact of just the diagnosis. CFC put together a complete program from psychological counseling, to motivation, to nutrition benefits, to specific exercise programs that were tailored to exactly what I was going through.
The communication between Tanya and myself on information that I should relay to my other specialists, such as oncologists and radiologists, so they know what we’re doing here on a day-to-day basis, was excellent.

I am a 76-year-old woman with a progressive kyphosis diagnosis. Prior to my introduction to Tanya 3 years ago, my back was affecting my balance and my ability to stand up straight.
Tanya has been training me for over 3 years. Since then, my posture has improved significantly as well as my balance and core muscles.

In May of 2012, I found myself more than 200 pounds overweight and due to sports injuries over the years, in constant pain. It was a terrible place to be in for someone who was once very competitive and considered to be athletic.
As of February 2023, I’ve lost 167 pounds and I am doing things in the gym that I haven’t done in over 20 years.
What really impresses me about Tanya is how she customizes her training to the specific needs of her clients. In my many hours at the gym, I’ve seen her train several other clients and there is nothing boilerplate about her training sessions. During those training sessions, Tanya is 100% focused on the client she is training. Everything we do at the gym is one of the many stepping stones to get you to the next milestone or to be able to do the next new exercise. Her unwavering belief and confidence in you helps you achieve things that you never would have tried on your own.
In addition to the phenomenal training in the gym, Tanya has really helped me to change my eating habits. Tanya gave me food recommendations for the “what to eat” as well as adjustments to the “how to eat”. I have dieted before and lost a lot of weight, but I didn’t eat healthy and didn’t make changes to how I eat. Tanya has helped me immensely with my nutrition and developing healthy eating habits which have enabled me to make progress in the gym and on the scales.
